T.Ellis : what was your life like growing up in Queens New York ?     

DJ Clash : Queens Bridge was learning/ having fun/ music and ranking. but education was first. Lorraine Smiley " Mom. "                        

T.Ellis : with New York City being so fast pace what was that whole experience like ?                                   

DJ Clash : that's a fully loaded question I can't answer.                         

T.Ellis : how did you get into DJing ?          

DJ Clash : how I got started the River Park DJs like the ORR Brothers " Vernon Blvd " they had the system on lock " and the Disco Twins " Robert and Reggie " I gave mad props. and lastly the legend Marley Marl. I saw him scratching on a Reel to Reel machine that sound is what made me become a DJ DOC 103 ... lol my first name... among DJ Muggs, DJ Claps, and my brother Richard Smiley giving me my name DJ Clash ../ and also loving on the Clash the punk rock band and the Clash of the Titans lol.                                          

T.Ellis : how important is the DJ to a artist ?                                                   

DJ Clash : Hmmm ... the essence of cutting and spinning is back to the starting part of a record without ending it for a rapper was very important so that song would continue and not end.                           

T.Ellis : as a DJ do you have any mixtapes out ?                                      

DJ Clash : I never did this being apart of six radio stations and being a recording engineer.                           

T.Ellis : does DJs break records :           

DJ Clash : breaking a record ... having something of an Original or a Exclusive rocking radio or club event made you more sort after... so breaking something to the ears is so very true.                                              

T.Ellis : have you worked at any radio stations ?                                              

DJ Clash : my start on radio started 1 WBLS 107.5 FM/ WQHT 97.1 / power 105.1 / BBC 1 ( London) / Surf 107.2 FM ( Brighton South England) WQFS 90.9 FM current ( Greensboro NC ) WREE 97.5 ( Upstate NYC ).                 

T.Ellis : is DJing a craft like any other ?                                                  

DJ Clash : yes.                                       

T.Ellis : what's your usual mix when DJing ?                                                 

DJ Clash : I mix everything that's why they call me DJ Clash.                

T.Ellis : what do you think of the current state of hip hop ?                    

DJ Clash : not good this gen z lazy rapper and everything sounds the same. sorry Rappers and Singers.        

T.Ellis : being that your from New York you seen the start of hip hop what was that experience like ?          

DJ Clash : Hmmm at this time hip hop was Unity Love and having fun.     

T.Ellis does Queens has some of the most talented rappers in New York ?  

DJ Clash : Queens so many to name... Shan " QB " / Roxanna Shante " QB " / Marley Marl / LL Cool J / Tribe Called Quest / Q Tip / Run Dmc / Salt & Pepper / Kool G Rap / 50 Cent/ Large Professor / G Unit / Akinyele / Black Sheep / Onyx / The Beatnuts / Blaq Poet / " QB " / Jam Master Jay / DMF Eddie / QB " Mobb Deep / " QB " Nas " QB " MC Serc " 3rd Bass / N.O.R.E. / DJ Hurricane to name a few.                                           

T.Ellis : you have the love and passion for DJing ?                                

yes.                                                         

T.Ellis : where do you see yourself in the next two years ?                             

DJ Clash : owning my own Radio Station/ getting a Masters Degree/ and being a great husband to my wife Heidi.                                            

T.Ellis : how do you wanna be remembered as a DJ and a person ?      

DJ Clash : Hmmm good question just remember me as putting God first, being a consistent with love and keep people dancing. Props along the way. DJ Smurft " QB Havocs father from Mobb Deep who taught me how to DJ on non pitch turntables, Marley Marl for teaching me how to produce and engineer at the house of hitz. platinum six gold records and four Grammys. God is more than good!!!
