Travis Ellison : where you originally from ?

Cheryl Cooley I was born in Chicago, Illinois and I moved to Los Angeles, California at the age of ten.

Travis Ellison : how was your life growing up ?

Cheryl Cooley : I have a older sister that's sixteen years older than me, so we both grew up like the only child in the same family. I really had a happy childhood. Although moving from Chicago to Los Angeles was a culture shock to me as a child, I even today still feel like I'm from some where else even though I lived the majority of my life in California.

Travis Ellison : what advice would your younger self give your older self to carry on ?

Cheryl Cooley : save money, pursuing your passion you should never be squashed by some one else's opinion and living your happiness should always be a priority in your life.

Travis Ellison : when did you start playing the guitar?

Cheryl Cooley : at age eleven.

Travis Ellison : did you always have a love for music ?

Cheryl Cooley : yes. no one in my family played musical instruments, but I attended a private school from age five to ten that made studying classical music a major part of our curriculum.

Travis Ellison : you are apart of the legendary group Klymaxx, how did that come about ?

Cheryl Cooley : At the time I was playing with various local bands and I was at a rehearsal hall that the members of Klymaxx, was at the time, were also rehearsing when they saw me playing my guitar, they just walked into the other bands rehearsal and told me that I didn't want to play with that band, that I wanted to play with Klymaxx because they were an all girl band.

Travis Ellison : when did you join the group                  Klymaxx ?

Cheryl Cooley : November, 1979.

Travis Ellison : what was the first label y'all were signed to ?

Cheryl Cooley : Solar Records in Los Angeles, California. S.O.L.A.R. actually stands for sounds of Los Angeles.

Travis Ellison : are y'all currently signed to any label now ?

Cheryl Cooley : No, not currently.

Travis Ellison : which one you enjoy more doing recording in the studio or performing ?

Cheryl Cooley : oh my!!! they each have their own level of enjoyment, but I guess if I had to choose, it would be performing live.

Travis Ellison : to this day y'all are still performing what is the feeling like to be on stage ?

Cheryl Cooley : First off Iam grateful that the fans wanna come to our performance. There are so many choices of music out there and to see that they chose to be entertained by Klymaxx is a euphoric feeling. I really enjoy playing guitar and to see other people enjoying it also is such a feeling of gratefulness and happiness.

Travis Ellison : would you some day consider doing a reality show if ask to ?

Cheryl Cooley : probably no. I'm still not certain of positive purpose of reality shows.

Travis Ellison : is Cheryl Cooley the woman the same as Cheryl Cooley the musician ?

Cheryl Cooley : Hum! I never thought it like that. They both intermingle with each other, I'm not sure I can separate the two to give definitive answer.

Travis Ellison : have you accomplished all your            goals ?

Cheryl Cooley : No life is ever expanding.

Travis Ellison : what kind of legacy you wanna leave behind ?

Cheryl Cooley : That I succeeded and had fun in composing and performing music for many years of enjoyment and inspiration.
