Terri Martin, professionally known as Little Terri, is a first-generation Hip-Hop cultural creator,
award-winning innovator, author, and entrepreneur. Raised in the South Bronx, she is recognized
as the originator of the iconic call-and-response sound “Somebody Say Hoo”, a vocal expression
that transformed audience participation and remains a global staple in Hip-Hop culture. During the
foundational years of Hip-Hop, Terri was deeply involved in the culture as part of the first Hip-Hop
security with the Casanova Crew, connected with the first breakdancers alongside the L
Brothers, and among the early individuals who helped distribute Grandmaster Flash’s flyers,
supporting park jams and community events that helped shape the movement. She is the author of
two published books. Her memoir, Somebody Say Ho, documents her firsthand role in the birth of
Hip-Hop and preserves an essential Bronx origin story. Her second book, Flagging Survival Guide,
is a practical safety resource for construction and flagging professionals. Terri’s cultural
contributions have earned her awards and recognition for originality and historical impact. She is
currently completing a documentary based on her story, which is being prepared for film
festival submissions, further preserving Hip-Hop history on an international platform. Her book
and merchandise are available at www.somebodysayho.hiphop. In addition to her cultural and
literary work, Terri Martin is the CEO of Luviz Beauty, a natural beauty brand for men and
women. Learn more at www.luvizbeauty.com. She is also the founder of New York Style
