Emily Clarida is an author, genealogist, entrepreneur, and cultural storyteller whose work explores identity, ancestry, healing, and the enduring legacy of the African diaspora. Through deeply personal narratives and meticulous historical research, she preserves family histories that might otherwise be forgotten, inspiring readers to discover the power of their own stories.
She is the author of All of Me: Spirit, Survival & Sacred Love, All of Me: Light Work, Heavy History, and the children’s book Princess Emola: Silent Waters, Endless Skies. A proud descendant of the Gullah Geechee people, Emily draws upon her heritage and extensive genealogical research to illuminate the resilience, culture, and histories that continue to shape generations today.
Born in California and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Emily’s ancestry spans Africa, Europe, and Southeast Asia, giving her a unique perspective that celebrates the richness and complexity of identity. She is also developing Clarida House Reserve, a luxury African tea brand scheduled to launch in 2027, inspired by Africa’s tea traditions and the rituals of hospitality, heritage, and connection.
Whether writing, researching, or building meaningful ventures, Emily believes every family has a story worth preserving and that understanding our past is one of the most powerful ways to shape our future.
